Tourist reservations for the next season in holiday homes in Ibiza are 10% above last year. This is in the case of the supply of villas whose owners have chosen not to raise prices in 2024. This is what the president of the AVAT association, Roberto San Esteban, highlights, who insists on the importance of maintaining quality-price ratio to remain a competitive destination.
San Esteban affirms that the most luxurious villas have not yet come on the market, that this summer they opted for a disproportionate increase in rates, above 25% and that in the middle of the campaign they have had to make significant discounts and they have been empty for several weeks.
On the other hand, especially in the Central European market, they have rushed to reserve places in holiday homes that maintain prices adjusted to the quality of the service they offer.
San Esteban reiterates that the employers' association is clear that the price escalation of recent years cannot continue, because Ibiza is increasingly associated with being an expensive destination and this can have an increasingly greater impact on the arrival of tourists. to the island.
The good evolution of sales for the next season also demonstrates, they say from AVAT, that they no longer wait until the last minute to book when they find competitive rates.
