The Ibiza tourist housing association hopes to extend the season until the end of October and with good occupancy. So far the figures are slightly lower than those of the last campaign in line with what is being seen in other sectors such as the hotel industry.

The month of July closed with 86% of vacancies occupied, according to data managed by the AVAT association, which brings together most of the regulated supply of vacation homes on the island.

The president of this association, José Antonio Llano, says that the numbers are good and in a summer in which movements have been promoted on the island denouncing tourist overcrowding, he insists that the finger should not be pointed at legal tourist homes. but to the increasingly unfair competition that they have to endure and "which is largely responsible for the saturation that can be suffered at specific times of the season"

Llano affirms that the forecasts for the month of September are good, while for October there is still a lot to sell. In any case, he says that his sector no longer depends so much on nightlife to put an end to the season, but that in those months they receive a different client "who is looking to get to know the other Ibiza."

Llano insists that the situation of vacation homes that meet all the requirements to be registered and that continue to be rented every year should be regularized once and for all.
